The
SHUR-FLO
DRAUGHT INDUCER is an electrically-powered device that helps maintain
correct flue conditions by providing
additional draught when natural draught is not sufficient for satisfactory
operation.
The Shur-Flo draught inducer will
add to the natural draught as much as 0.05 in water gauge. This is
usually more than enough to overcome internal venting problems caused by
short chimneys, long or crooked pipes, undersized flues, low temperature
flue gases and the opposing air demands of such appliances as exhaust fans,
etc. It is flue pipe mounted and fully self-contained except for electrical
connection.
A fibre seating mat is provided which
sits
between the flue casing and inducer
saddle.
When used in conjunction with a draught
regulator, the two appliances will ensure that complete
stability is always present.
The inducers are sturdily built of
heavy gauge corrosion resistant materials and designed for years of trouble-free
service, needing no maintenance. The impeller blades and the fan shaft
are of special metals which will not rust or deteriorate in contact with
flue gases.
The shaft extends through both front
and rear motor bearings and is in one piece, and oversized for greater
rigidity. Scientific impeller design provides smooth air flow, greater
volume and firm gently aspiration that will not snuff out pilot light or
cause flame to float or undulate.
The burn-out proof motor has been
especially
designed for draught inducer service,
the
bearings are pre-oiled with long life
silicone
lubricant. m The motor, mounted
outside the flue, is air cooled and can be removed in seconds for
inspection of both motor and impeller
assembly.
This saddle mounted draught inducer
is not
intended to overcome excessive down
draughts caused by external influences such as hills, tall trees and buildings.
In these cases we recommend chimney caps or some form of cowl be employed
in conjunction with the Shur-Flo. |
